Was curious and noticed that the latest champs, from Vex to Seraphine, aren't there in League Displays. That includes Skin Lines. Not that it really that much of a problem, but it does seem like Riot forgot about this software, although it is a neat thing that they gave to the community.

Hi there! With the battery fixes coming soon, I wanted to share a write up review of the 2022 Bolt for anyone considering the newer model vs the older 2017-2021 Bolt design or the 2022 Bolt EUV. I hope it helps, and feel free to ask any questions about the refresh!
Images of the 2022 Bolt design
The 2022 Bolt interior is one of the highlight changes to the refreshed design. Chevrolet has remedied the stiff seating which made the previous models strain for comfort at long distances. This is especially true for the power adjustable driver seat at the 2LT trim level, which offers many more degrees of adjustment over the manual, notched design of the prior years. The 2022 model also includes lumbar support, a welcome addition to the driver seat which makes long road trip routes far more comfortable. In comparison to other EV seats, I would place this near parity with the updated 2018+ Nissan Leaf seats, which are also quite comfortable. With a perforated design however, spills and food might be trickier to clean than the previous years.
The Bolt EV also lacks the ventilated seats option, which is featured on the Premier model of the Bolt EUV. In extremely hot areas, nearly all the US these days, that feature would have been very welcome had Chevrolet made it an option for the Bolt EV. Still, the interior improvements make it a joy to be in the car for long periods and are leagues better than the seats featured on the older models.
The button style shifter certainly takes some time getting used to, which removes the years of muscle memory of physical shifters. In emergency situations in need of a quick shift between directions, this still is not as immediate as a turn of the shifter with muscle memory from years of driving. The benefits of the new shifter however come down to the implementation of excellent one pedal, regenerative breaking. Gone are the days of needing to shift down to D and L twice at every acceleration. In its place, the one pedal driving has been moved to a single button which remembers its state through power cycles. This is an excellent implementation, and feels far more responsive than the similar button activator on the Nissan Leaf models. Additionally, the one pedal driving mode now stays active through different shifting including reverse. This is a fascinating change in the Bolt, which the older models and other EVs do not feature. For parallel parking and reversing in general, it is a notable change to the way backing up feels, giving a tighter control due to the automatic breaking. It is an odd change to get used to however, and can make those parallel parking jobs feel stuttered and choppy instead of the smooth motion and typical acceleration off the 2017-2021 models.
Infotainment & Display
On first entering the redesigned Bolt and noticing the comfortable seats, the first eye-grabbing change to the interior is the substantially increased touch screen. It is a beautiful display, which features a surprisingly refined user interface from Chevrolet. With the now 10-inch diagonal display, the Bolt feels as though the user interface is catching up to the modern software experiences that we are used to from mobile phones and computers. Chevrolet has completely overhauled the infotainment experience, and most importantly, they have focused on stability. Small annoyances like the startup chime setting ignoring user preferences in the older model software are gone. Instead, the interface is responsive and minimal. While the larger screen is enticing and the retained display angle makes touch interactions easy, a blaring sunny day can reflect a blinding glare from its surface. The jarring glare is made worse by the glossy plastic surrounding the display. In my case, the reflection was so egregious that I fitted a Paperlike matte screen protector (originally for the ipad pro), which has solved the unexpectedly strong glaring reflections.
In software, the 2022 Bolt is now unfailingly reliable in user settings, preferences, and clarity. Where there was once a confusing mix of software and physical buttons for audio playback and climate controls, there is now only one selector for each of these functions. Underneath the center display, a row of physical switches now control the climate functions for much faster access to individual adjustments. These toggles feature small displays in their center, showing the fan speed and temperature settings at a glance. Instead of the physical audio skip buttons, there are now two dials to the right of the tablet display. The topmost dial controls the power restart, audio mute, as well as the volume for satisfyingly physical adjustment. The dial below is the most curious, as it allows for navigating the infotainment interface without the need for touch. In cold climates without touch sensitive gloves for the capacitive screen, this might be most useful. However, navigating inside of apps will have various levels of compatibility, with some applications unsure how to support the feature. Other welcome changes to the new infotainment experience include dedicated audio level preferences which work reliably to remember your setting, and the ability to select a silent startup. Each of these settings, while not new to the Bolt, function reliably on the new model.
While the redesigned exterior of the Bolt EV might not appear substantially different, the updated front end in my view gives a more premium, futuristic appearance. This is most noticeable in the front headlight units, which work wonderfully in day and night. The high beams are especially notable, and give a brighter view than my previous 2017 model Bolt EV. The staged turn signals also help to give the 2022 design a more premium look from the exterior.
While I am unsure if the changes to the front have improved aerodynamics substantially, I am certain that the 2022 model has been more efficient per KW of driving in my experience. With the caveat that I drive slowly and rarely on highways in rural Vermont, my previous 2017 model averaged a 4.8 - 4.9 mi/kwh under my driving habits. Impressively, the 2022 model performed an entire 1 kwh better at 5.9 on average. This is even while accounting for long road trips out of state in New England, giving a safe range of at least 300 miles on a full charge. With careful driving, 350-400 was possible in my driving habits, an incredibly impressive feat for the 2022 model. In addition to the higher efficiency, the estimated range features a new method of estimating while climate control is turned on: instead of the previous deduction of miles immediately showing on the remaining range, the 2022 Bolt simply includes the climate control into the visual power draw display. This is a welcome change, and certainly more helpful to new EV drivers than the alarming loss of 10-15 miles when reaching for the a/c controls. In my view, this is where the 2022 Bolt EV shines, being an excellent balance of value and efficiency at a price point still unique in the US EV market.
The Battery Recall
Undoubtedly, every Bolt owner has been through a great deal of stress and weighing the impact of the Bolt EV battery recall for their own comfort level with risk. In my case being a full-time rideshare driver, the risk to income and daily restrictions on range were just too much for me to wait on the promised fix. After previously having a 2017 Bolt during the prior two recalls, I was hopeful that the 2022 model would be my refuge out of the constant worry and checks out the window for smoke. A single night when all my home`s fire alarms went off made me sure that I was not comfortable with the risk, and the undefined timeline given by GM for the 2022 model replacements. After relentless searching in the New England area for a replacement, I found a great dealership in Kingston, NY willing to take my 2022 Bolt as a trade-in for an on-the-lot Volkswagen ID.4 Pro S. During that time, I was also pursuing a buyback repurchase with GM on the 2022, but instead went with the trade-in due to the difficulty in finding stock of alternative EVs in the chip shortage. Despite the challenging time as a Bolt owner of the past year, I still recommend the car to anyone interested in EVs. it simply is a fantastic car, with a promised replacement battery and warranty coming. If your comfort level or needs can stay in GMs temporary limits, I absolutely recommend the 2022 Bolt EV for its balance of practicality, price, and refinement. Once GM recovers from this unfortunate blemish in their EV history, the Bolt will be an excellent presence in the market without the stigma of safety concerns.
The redesigned Bolt EV feels like a careful and considered refinement. It offers a more premium interior, with vastly improved padded seats over the 2017 model. The simplified physical buttons for shifting, climate control, and media controls offer a clear and responsive operation that makes the EV feel carefully equipped at all trim levels. The exterior also shows a higher level of attention, with the ride quality the most pleasant surprise. The new 2022 model has a smoother ride due to an improved suspension, which is able to handle road hazards, divots, and holes without the jolting bounce of the previous design.
While the attention has brought many improvements, Chevrolet has also seemed to reconsider the positioning of the Bolt EV, removing some of the best well-rounded details of the past design. Gone are the roof rail mounts, option for the heated rear seats, the sliding arm rest, and the rear camera cleaning spray jet cleaner. Some of these changes seem to be now exclusive to the alternative offering from Chevrolet, the Bolt EUV. As Chevrolet begins to position the EUV as a crossover, the emphasis on distinguishing between the two has made the EUV the focus for higher-end features no longer offered to the Bolt EV.
All the additions and removals considered, the 2022 Bolt EV is a great combination for reliability and value at a great price point.
