2022.01.20 08:11 AveragePenus Not giving props

Hi guys! I noticed something. After most games I read the nba threads and sometimes see that people don't give credit to players (even whole franchises).
It seems like some franchises hate some players. Like for example today I saw how the raptors hate luka, like for real, fuck luka and stuff I then remembered that the knicks hate him too (but knicks fan are overall shitty). But on the other hand, luak coocks boston but they say thats just him, thats what he does.
I akn't a luka stan, this happens for other players too, today I just realized it. Some feanchises never give probs when some particular player cook them.
Example: when kawhi was giving us hell everybody was like: yeah thats just kawhi in the playoffs, ca 't do shit about that etc.
Same goes for embiid/jokic, people just go yeah thats them, they are insane centers. They ball out, thats just what they do. For example lakers fans and Knicks fans almost never do that, they just go fuck this guy and cry some shit and are just insenly salty/angry.
But my question is. Do we have such a player? Like I dunno, for example: Dame coocks us and we just wont give him the same threatment we give guys like kawhi/lebron when they do that?
I mean players current in the nba, dwade doesn't count.
Just curious if a a certain nba player coocking us triggers fans and gives them hate boners.

2022.01.20 08:11 valimo ManCity rotation risk historical analysis | How much nailed top assets can be and why you should feel comfortable picking Cancelo, Dias, KdB, Laporte or Bilva

There has been some regular doubts and discussions about the age-old FPL topic, rotation of Man City and is it worth getting their assets. The issue is in the manager's minds, especially as the more congested spring period with the CL fixtures and cup finals is closing in.
As just raising up this topic brings a lot of unhelpful and uncreative comedians here (as obviously no one knows for sure how the City lineup will be and it is cracking funny that Guardiola tends to rotate players a lot), let's have a fucking real go at this question. Are ManC all players so heavily rotated, that black magic is necessary when selecting their assets?
For the analysis, I'm gonna take a quick look at the past PL data of all Pep's seasons with City to see, if there has been actually some players that have managed to be somewhat undroppable in the past years, and what we could learn from that pattern. The seasons are the previous ones under Pep, 16/17, 17/18, 18/19, 19/20, 20/21, and the current one for comparison. The focus is on the second half of the season, as that is where we are at.

Does City have a few less rotated players?
Yes.
These are the ones everyone usually targets, so I will count out the less popular FPL choices (namely defensive midfielders, GKs as Ederson is not really relevant for the exercise and potential POO players if any). Pep still has had a favoured lineup for every season and even though he tends to rotate a lot of positions, there are some more regular or near-guaranteed starters. In the five seasons, the FPL relevant City players with the most PL minutes were the following (not taking injuries into account):
16/17 - KdB, Dilva, Otamendi, Kolarov, Sterling, Aguero
17/18 - KdB, Otamendi, Walker, Sterling
18/19 - Laporte, Bilva, Sterling, Walker
19/20 - KdB, Sterling
20/21 - Dias, Sterling
All of these players have pulled at least 2 500 minutes on the respective seasons (our of 3 420 max), which is practically speaking nailed, considering injuries and some light rotation. For example, Sterling hit 2 777 minutes in 18/19 season, playing in all but 5 matches (injuries or suspensions explaining 4 of the absences), coming from the bench in only 2 matches. So yea, it is safe to say that there are always some options, that are relatively (approx. 90%) settled in Pep's starting XI. I'd also stress that this list doesn't include injury-prone players, such as Aguero, who i.e. 18/19 started all but three matches when fit, one of which was after an injury.

Is everyone at rotation risk when the CL/Cup fixtures coming up?
Some players are less of a risk.
Even after late February when the fixture congestion starts due to the Champion's League knock out rounds, there is not really a major change on the selection pattern for the most selected players. For context, City made it to quarterfinals in all except two years, 16/17 they only got to R16, in 20/21 to the final. Two examples of the key FPL targets from each year:
16/17 - KdB played 9 matches out of 11, coming off the bench once but otherwise always playing more than 79min. Neither of his absences was curiously next to the CL fixtures. He also played the FA Cup fixtures mostly, but those were most likely subject to KdB being benched. Dilva had two games he was not selected for and one where he came to play for 33 min - the absences were after a short FA Cup feature, but nothing related to CL.
17/18 - KdB after New Year's started 14 out of 16 matches, playing always major minutes. Two absences, one of which was after the QF match but he came off the bench for 20+ minutes. No benching related to FA Cup. Otamendi on the other hand played nearly every single minute of the season if not suspended until the last 6 GWs when he was on the bench twice and not selected for the last two matches. Only one benching was close to a CL fixture against Liverpool
18/19 - Sterling started all but three PL matches in the second half of the year, coming off from the bench for 30+ min each time. The only absence was before the FA Cup semi-final, one coming off from the bench before the EFL final, but CL had no impact on his minutes. Laporte missed three PL matches after the beginning of December, all related to injury or recovery. Bilva was benched 3 times in 13 matches after January, playing 25+ mins on two of those, one was due to a recovery from a knock, limited minutes related to the FA Cup semi and the EFL final.
19/20 - KdB after New Year's didn't start four matches, one he was injured, bench on three of them and came off from the bench in two for good 30 min. Only full benching was just prior FA Cup semi-final. Sterling on the other hand missed two matches due to injury after January, started otherwise all but two, neither of which was next to any cup games.
20/21 - Dias was benched three times in the last six fixtures, all of which were next to CL fixtures and once close to reported knock. Otherwise, he played all the matches of the season. For Sterling, last season wasn't the best, but he played 12 out of 16 matches after January, coming off from bench on one. Only off the bench performance was next to the CL match, one absence next to the FA Cup quarter-final, which was also next to the EFL final. The majority of the absences were due to other reasons it seems.
I didn't run the match exactly, but in general, the most nailed City assets seem to play at least 80-95% of their available minutes in the second part of the year. Is that the risk worth selecting one of these assets? Probably more than missing out on them.

What about after securing a league win?
The impact is limited to the settled players.
I shouldn't need to remind anyone, that Pep's work ethique is not really about giving any slack. Man City is not by accident the club that holds records on the most points in PL, most goals scored in PL etc. And surprisingly, do they start fucking around when they have already secured a trophy? Historical data shows, not at least in terms of selection.
In most of the cases, a notable exception was Otamendi in 17/18, there was absolutely no additional rotation in the late stages of the season. On the contrary, the settled XI players seemed to get even more minutes during the last 3-4 matches. Even in 17/18 and 20/21 when the title was secured rather early, usually the settled players ended up starting about two thirds of the matches. That is still quite a lot, also considering that the last GWs might get quite explosive.

TL;DR - who you want to target:
Long story short, the settled players are not gonna be rotated extensively, no matter how much we like to complain about Pep roulette. Expect them to miss 1-3 out of the remaining 16 matches without any injuries/illnessess messing up their schedule. Some of these relate to the EFL, FA Cup and CL fixtures, but not all though, so don't take it for granted that Pep's favourites are gonna miss some matches.
This season the settled players, judging from the past minutes, are Cancelo, Bilva, Dias and Laporte. However, when you also consider the injuries, KdB has only missed matches due to COVID or ankle injury so far. That is already more ManC assets than you can pick, especially as Ederson is obviously another possibility.
Of course the performance side is another quality that needs to be taken into account, but we are talking about the likely champions, who have conceded 13 goals in 22 matches, while scoring 54. Take your pick and feel happy about it.

2022.01.20 08:11 redvelvimag What’s considered sick enough to call out/get tested for someone who’s vaccinated?

I was around my boyfriend before he was sick, while he developed symptoms, and a little after he was officially positive. I was temporarily staying with him. We’re both vaccinated. I’ve been going to work anyways since policy is you go in if you’re not sick yourself if you’re vaccinated.
A reliable source told me (I don’t want to give too many details on anything but I swear they 100% know what they’re talking about) that management doesn’t want anyone calling out/getting tested if they’re not actively sick. That they’ll actually get mad if you test positive but aren’t really showing symptoms.
I was more tired than usual yesterday, and today I have the tiniest hint of a sore throat. It’s barely there. That’s the only symptoms I’ve had so far. Truthfully, I wouldn’t even pay attention to either of those if I hadn’t actively been around someone who tested positive because they’re so mild. But since I’ve actively been around someone who has it, I’m just not sure when exactly I reach the threshold of sick enough to go get tested. Especially if symptoms stay incredibly mild for me. Obviously I know if I have a fever or anything, call out, but if I’m truly BARELY sick, what do I do then? I’m not sure what management considers sick enough lol.

I've been mining for a year and never had any problems, it's been like this for a week and I don't know what to do, I've already changed all the sleep mode and windows hibernation settings, but it didn't work. 2022.01.20 08:11 J32Mc Broke 100 again!

Hello reader, hope you’re doing good! I hope this doesn’t come across as a self-centred type post but I’m quite proud and wanted to share.
I started playing golf last September and I just broke 100 for the second time - shooting 96. The first time was in November and I shot 98 (on, in my opinion, an easier course).
The best thing was that there is still a lot to improve on, my play around the greens was terrible! I’m in Scotland so we don’t get the best weather for it this time of year, but I’m really happy to be making progress in tough conditions. Bring on summer golf! ⛳️
